Uninstalling XP Mode

Hi,

I selected "Windows XP Mode" from the uninstall menu in Windows and everything seemed to go fine. I noticed, though, that Virtual PC is still on my computer. I went back to the uninstall menu and could not find an entry for Virtual PC. I was wondering how I can remove this from my PC?

Hi there
can you uninstall it from the Windows control panel -- try Programs and features==>uninstall.

Cheers

I wondered the same thing and could not find it in uninstall programs or features. But it doesn't matter because it doesn't need to be uninstalled as it doesn't take up much space. You can still reinstall XP mode.

Remember that Virtual XP is two components. The main exe (VirtualXPMode ~500mb) and KB958559 (Virtual PC). You'd have to remove KB958559 to get rid of it all.

When I went to uninstall it, if im not mistaken, there was an uninstall xp mode button in the start menu. My reason for uninstalling was when xp mode is installed vmware products do not work.

I have both xpmode and VMware server 2.0 installed. No issues.

So you are at the cross-roads of whether to use XPM or VMware. I'd say for mild usage and quick and easy maintenance, use XPM. for serious Virtualisational usages, got the latter.

For me, my 2GB RAM often hates me when don't behave.
