I have a machine running Windows 7 Home Premium. I have purchased a Windows 7 Pro upgrade. There are only two upgrade options. The first is to go through Anytime Upgrade ... which apparently is no longer supported by Microsoft. Or to wipe everything out and install from scratch ... which is not really an option.
So how does one upgrade Windows 7 in a Windows 10 world? Can you use slmgr.vbs to plug in the Pro key without going through the upgrade process?
You could do the free upgrade to 10 Home, then just click change key and enter your Pro key to go to 10 Pro. Once you activate 10 Pro you'll have a digital entitlement for that PC. You can then clean install 10 Pro anytime you want after that. You'll actually have a digital entitlement for 10 Home for that PC too. I do believe the anytime upgrade is only for going to a better version of Windows 7, not another newer OS.
If you go here, https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 there is an upgrade this PC now option that will upgrade you to 10 Home. You can also download an ISO for latter use.

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Where did you buy this win 7 pro upgrade from that I have seen there isn't any "upgrade" version around only oem/ system builders copies for clean installs
The only "upgrades" are from win-10 Home to Pro and possibly enterprise = I suppose this is the win-10 world you speak of
Anytime upgrade was broken soon after win-8 was released I believe ?
Now it would refer someone to a win-10 upgrade offer.
