UPS Supply Corsair CX 450W 80 plusBronze could be connected to No-Brea

The question is because I had seen different asnwers

1 - from an UPS Manufacturer (UPS: Uninterruptible Power Supply or No-Break in Brazil ) does not recommend with such kind of Suply (Corsair 80 plus Bronze);


2- Another saying there is no importance (he is an english blogger with some own opinions (just supported by himself who also publish poems, preferred books, several themes not about only computer)

- And, else, a participant of a brazilian Forum saying not recommend but a very good Line Filter (too much rare in Brazil): Recommend just linking direct to the wall, unique out energy with classical earth wire stick.

He says in Brazil there are a lot of false, not true NoBreaks (UPS), he said the only true UPS is a Double Wave Senoid (too expensive in Brazil, for rich people and industries)

PS - My Corsair (a very famous label) has a 3 years-guarantee. Is n" it so few guarantee time for a Corsair?

The output of an UPS can be a sine wave (more expensive) or square wave.
For a computer and for most of the electronic devices it doesn't matter because the first thing on a power supply is to rectify from AC to DC and filter with a large capacitor. The results after rectify and filter are the same with a sine wave or square wave.

A UPS is only needed on places where you have a energy supplier with many interruptions. I personally only have a very good line filter. Varistor > 3000 Joules

Thank you, but I've read a forum where an eletronic Engineer says about problems with the first UPS, in a long article, he explains that in long term, long time (or even short time) the computer is damaged, suddenlly or a long period gradually.

With Suplies with Active PCF he doesn't recommend.

Active PFC = Power Factor Correction


This technology works well at 220V Mains or higher.
In the USA the same PSU was unable to have active PFC due to low 110V.
