User Profile Problems... Keeps Losing Personal Settings

For the last week, Windows 7 has been playing up. When I turn the computer on, it doesn't load my profile. It loads some default profile. So standard desktop background, numerous programs appearing to not be installed... Google Chrome for example.

The first time it happened. A system restore got it back to how it should be. The next time it happened, running Check Disk and repairing sorted it. But tonight... Check Disk didn't work, so I've had to restore to an earlier point than the previous restore.

Any ideas on how I can fix this annoying problem?

Create a new admin user so you can login with that so you dont get locked out of the pc. Did you run chkdsk c: /r to check the drive? goto the disk makers site they will have a tool to test the drive which is more comprehensive than windows

I've run chkdsk c: /r a few times, from what I could understand it didn't find any bad things. C Drive is a Sandisk SSD which I finally got round to installed in Feb this year.

Just had a look at that link... I don't have a .bak folder in the Profile List folder on the registry.
