Validation or Not?

I just bought my copy last week. I got a digital download and the product key by email. I needed a program from Windows Marketplace and had to go through the validation product and had no problem with the process as it was validated.

This morning I noticed in the bottom right of the desktop that my copy of Windows wasn't genuine. Never having seen something like that I came on here and read some threads about the problem with rip-off copies.

Well to make this short I went back through and ran the validation program again and Microsoft says I have a good copy of Win 7 and that little notice disappeared.

I ran the MGADiag program and that says I have a valid copy. Is this something I have to worry about or should I inform Microsoft that a vender is selling bogus software?

Welcome!

I wouldn't make too much of that. Stuff happens, and it always works out.

If you successfully activated, and Windows is saying you have a genuine copy, that means you are all set.

Now, if the notice keeps coming up, let us know, and we'll try to figure it out.

You used the word Vendor. If you bought it from a legit vendor and it came sealed, etc, you have no problem. If you bought it from a guy on the street or ebay etc. and the DVD pack was openened and could have been used with the key, then you may have a problem.

As Jon said, things happen, but you know the cirucmstances. If you paid the going rate and went to a legit vendor, just enjoy.
