Okay so i have had a look for a stable driver for you, and i cant seem to find any drivers for your card (Windows 8.1 64Bit)?

I can find the Windows 7 Version, but i am wondering if thats what you have and that may be causing the problems.

Here is the windows 7 Version i can find: :ar: SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X R9 290 4GB GDDR5 TRI-X OC (UEFI)

Take that back sir, i have just seen this let me do some more research on this for you and i will get back to you tomorrow.

Ok I am running 13.9 drivers which I have seen are supposed to be more stable than the recent drivers and rersolve black screen issues.

Running driver verifier on this if that does ot work I'll go back to recent driver and await your response.

Tomorrow I will have new RAM and will also try that to see if this solves the problem.

Hello again, sorry i have been at work all day :)

How have the new drivers gone for you today?

Hi sorry for the late reply, the ram was fitted this morning at around 13:00. Since then I have experienced no BSOD, I haven't however ran driver verifier as I do not wish to stress the system. I have ran prime 95 for a short time to burn in the ram and to stress the system but all seems to be running fine at this time. I will give it a week and see how it goes.

As a side note the system seemed to be running the CPU @ between 3.90 and 4.22GHz which is way over it's 3.40GHz clock. After investigating and despite setting the bios to optimal stock setting the CPU is still running at an average of 3.9GHz, I just wonder if a combination of faulty RAM and cpu overclock caused many of the problems I have experienced. Any hoo Thank you very much for your help Harrie I appreciate the help you have given and the time taken and I wish you all the best, I will mark this thread as solved and I thank you for all your help you are good man. :D
