Solved Ventoy usb install won't progress beyond clicking on the Win7 x 32 iso

After the usb loads, I click on the iso in Ventoy the pc goes to a black screen with blinking - sign in upper left corner.

I know the iso is good and I know ventoy works because I successfully installed win7 home premium x64 on my other laptop with it.

The notebook is a Samsung np-n150 with a brand new ssd installed.
The pc recognises the drive.

In bios, AHCI is set to auto.

(Samsung's are weird - you have to click on Esc at startup to boot from usb)

Have you tried installed Win7 ISO on USB with different program? I use Rufus.

Thanks, I already have Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool, I was just wondering about Ventoy as I liked the concept.

Not so much now tho' - as it didn't work this time around.


All installed, no issues, and I'm amazed at the speed of an SSD on this elastic band powered notebook
Also the weight reduction is nice.

Any essential do's and don't's with an SSD I need to know about?

ventoy sets up an additional virtdisk in ram, maybe there was a problem with it on

this elastic band powered notebook

It also doesn't work for vista installation iso files, because of missing virtdisk.dll
