Video Not Clear (Pixel Problem)

Hi Im New Here So please Help
I Installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit about a Month Ago Everything is just Working Fine xcept the videos
Ive Used XP but after installing the drivers The video wuz Quite clear for example i wuz watching Spider man 3 on windows 7 WMP the red color has some pixel problem like the quality is bad and when i saw the same movie in Xp it wuz quite clear dont know what is the problem
I installed Intel GMA (Graphics Media Accelator ) driver from intel.com for 7 the only diffrence i noticed was that my Graphics rating changed from 2.5 to 3.1 lowest subscore

Currently i only have vlc player 1.0.3 installed

Welcome to 7 Forums!

First, you only have 1GB of ram, and that doesnt work well at all with Ultimate.

What type of graphics card do you have? Please fll out your system specs in full and let us know.

Are the correct drivers installed and working properly?
type device manager in search>go to display tab>check properties.

It may be a codec problem. Try Shark007.net - Windows 7 Codecs - WMP12 Codecs . If after applying it still the video is not up to the mark, you may have a second thought about your drivers.

Another question, does the red color looks the same in both WMP and VLC , or VLC displays somehow better than WMP ? If the second one is true, it is definitely a codec problem.

I do a fair bit of video work and will plump for low RAM causing this problem but just in case try downloading and installing Media Player Classic from here;

It's free and the best player I have come across.

It's very difficult to verdict a single one the best ( as you are much experienced , you may feel it better than me) . But if you are talking about K-lite codec pack bundled with Media Player Classic, I will vote for you

I installed The Shark Codec pack a slight improvement in the video but still facing the problem....

However Hd rips are awesome
The problem is with avi files also some mkv files

Can you tell the video bitrate of those avi or mkv files ? If you think it is difficult to find out the bitrate, at least tell the playback time and the size of the file.

Its about 700mb standard avi files bout 1hour 21 mins playback

The Thing is that I have seen most of the movies earlier in XP on the Same System they were great
Cause in Xp i used to install the Motherboard Cd supplied with the Motherboard and later install WMP 11 also nero 7

In windows 7 however i installed the latest Graphics driver 4 my motherboard but still the video is like distorted specially the scenes in red colour or sometimes Bright blue colour
But if it due to RAM my aero effects are awesome also the search is quicker than in XP

Should I install the 64 bit version ?

Also i found out that my front audio jack has no sound if i install the audio driver supplied by the motherboard i.e Intel Audio Studio theres sound but it skipps if i play any type of file i can slightly make out whats been played


LATEST:- My Cousins iPhone does not get detected in 7 though i have installed itunes

Hi FiZZ52, you know that the motherboard driver cd is not required in windows 7, coz the graphics (basic), sound (basic) and network driver is automatically installed with win7. As you have graphics card inbuilt, there shouldn't be a problem at all.

After driver , it comes the codec. After installing shark 007's codec pack, your video output quality is not improved . So here you may try another thing. You may configure the codecs to play avi and mkv manually .... use ffdshow for avi and haali's media splitter for mkv . BTW, nero is not any useful in video output enhancement (and both nero show time and nero home are just rubbish).

As graphic accelerator is automatically installed, and you dont have any extra GPU, you may take another chance by disabling\uninstalling the motherboard driver.

I am using 32 bit home premium, and there is no problem in video display in my machine. I also dont have any extra gpu on one machine . Still it runs fine , just needed haali's splitter to play mkv.

Nice input, wishmaster. Had I been in place of him, I never have used Xvid codec. x264 is my favorite.
