Hi I've got a really weird problem.

I've set up exchange isa etc and the VPN works fine for XP machines (other users) via PTPP my own home machine (7 Ultimate ) can RDP VPN exchange and network shares are fine but my laptop (7 pro) which I have set up in the same way doesn't work.

The Firewall is off on the laptop, the VPN settings are the same as on the ultimate machine.

The Laptops details and ipconfig tell me they are the same as the Home machine it does the verifying user name and details etc and the network screen says it's connected but it won't allow access to any of the usual features mentioned above.

Any Ideas on what I've done wrong or which setting is missing?

I can ping the FQDN but not the IP which is also strange I'm sure it's a DNS issue on the 7 Pro system.

I'm not using it as a VPN server but as a VPN client it won't log on as I said the settings are no different from the WIN7 Ultimate which is working fine (on with network shares RDP etc all working now from the machine I'm posting from...

So it's not a Routing issue either as they settings ISA Exchange RPD Network shares all work correctly and are set up for Doze 7 otherwise this machine wouldn't do it.

There's specifically a problem with the laptop and the Pro edition I think... It has to be local to the laptop because the desktop win7 connects the old win xp connects and works and colleges have also connected via their machines (and in one case their mums machine) and it's worked fine.

It's just this laptop which is the issue.

Hello Garfield,

Those laptops typcially come with all sorts of bloatware and A/V's preinstalled on them. Does your laptop with the problem have any sort of trial A/V software installed on it?
