W7 Non-Destructive Repair But Can't Find SP1

My HP Envy 15 with W7 Pro 64 bit has been crashing with blue screens and failures to boot for a couple of months.
I did a lot of diagnostics and can find no hardware problem.
I decided to do the Windows 7 non-destructive repair and bought the proper Windows 7 DVD however it does not have SP1.
I know that I need to uninstall SP1 in order to get this to work.
However, in the installed updates I have no listing for SP1 (KN 976932).
it IS installed it and clearly shows up as installed in the Windows edition information.
I don't really want to do a complete reformat / reinstall nor do I want to try the non-destructive repair until I remove SP1.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. You can get sp1 from Download Windows 7 Service Pack 1 - free - latest version
You will then need to slipstream it into the install disk How To Integrate or Slipstrem Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Into Installation DVD ISO

Thanks for the response, it's greatly appreciated.
So will the resultant installation DVD also give me the "UPDATE"' option so that a complete reinstall can be avoided?

Just use installation media that already contains sp1 to do a repair ( aka upgrade) install

After doing a repair install ( or a clean install) it needs an update for WU to work.

Your HP computer has a SLP license. It is a special offline activation license. You should make a backup of it.
SLP license backup

Once you have the Win 7 SP1 iso, extract to a folder (use 7zip).
Run setup.exe and it will begin the Repair Install . When asked for a license key, skip.
Once reinstalled, restore the SLP license from the backup you did previously to activate it.
Set WU to never check.
For the updates use Single file with all updates - Simplix
