Hi!

I've got a very disturbing issue with my Wacom Intuos4 tablet. Most of the time when I restart or power up my computer I have to reinstall my tablet. For some reason the drivers for the tablet just falls out. It is REALLY annoying! All my settings are still there after I've reinstalled it. So Win just don't recognise it anymore. Another restart or shut down/power up doesn't help. I have to reinstall.

I'm running on Win7 x64. I've never encountered this issue before. Please help.

*BUMP!*

I've located what the problem is, but not how to fix it. Under "Services" - TabletServiceWacom, it is set to "Automatic" but it won't start when the computer is booted.

I really need help with this. This disturbs my whole workflow.

I don't have the answer for you(yet but I'm looking).I wanted to post to let you know your not being ignored. From the looks of the driver on the Wacom site it seems to be a universal driver. Driver 6.1.2-4(RC) for USB Tablets on Windows 7, Vista & XP (32 & 64 bit) 10/20/09 so it's new.
As I said I just didn't want you to think your problem isn't being looked into. You might want to fill in your system specs in your user cp, also make sure you have the latest bios and chipset drivers for your MB.Fabe

Thanks! Much appreciated!

The driver you are refering to is the one I have. I am thinking about testing the driver for Vista instead, to see if it works better. But like you said, it's a universal driver so there should be no differens.

I'll take the time and fill in my information later then. :)

One thing that might help in your search. Before the already integrated tablet driver in Win7 was messing with the wacom driver. When I painted in Photoshop CS4 every other brush stroke was non-pressure sensitive and the whole system was experiencing heavy "lag spikes". So I turned off the original tablet driver for Win7 in the services section. I read in a forum that this was the proper solution for this problem. I don't think the issue I've got with the wacom driver has got anything to do with the other driver being turned off, because I was having the same issues with the wacom driver back then as well.

I believe I "solved" it. I just changed to the old Vista driver, and so far it hasn't failed me yet. But we'll have to wait and see. :)

Intuos Lost Drivers Solved

I believe I’ve solved the problem – my Intuos 3 loost it’s drivers or so it would seem; I found that if you delete the preferences table it works, until something regenerates the preferences table… so I fixed another problem w/ Photoshop cs like this & it also worked for Wacom: Find the directory for Wacom tablet {you will have to search your hdd} mine was in: \Program Files (x86)\Tablet\Wacom. Open properties on both the Tablet and Wacom directories; go to the security tab; under user names choose yourself [Users (jim)] and choose edit permissions. Then set your permissions to “FULL CONTROL” apply and this should clear up your problems, I now have a preferences table running and haven’t lost my drivers yet.
