Hello, I'm in the process of doing a clean Win7 Home Premium x64 install on a old Acer Aspire 8935G Notebook.

On the OEM installation it now has, there is Acer software and other tools; I would like advice on what of this list is needed because it is not present in the Win7 SP1 installation.

Thank you!

Acer Bio Protection 6.5.76 - For fingerprint reader

Acer Crystal Eye Webcam 1.1.1.86 - I don't think this is a driver, I think it is some enhancing tool

Acer ePower Management 5.00.3002

Acer eRecovery Management 4.00.3008

Acer Video Conference Manager 4.00.3006

ATI Catalyst Intall Manager 3.0.782.0 - Well, I have a nice button that allows me to switch between high performance graphics (Radeon) and power saving one (integrated Intel); will it work again? Do I need latest Radeon drivers?

O2Microd Falsh Memory Card

Realtek High Definition Audio 6.0.1.6890

Synaptics - with nice gestures on the touchpad

Thanks! Other things I forgot to mention are Intel drivers for wired WiFi, chipset and disk controller (SATA AHCI Driver) and broadcom drivers for LAN.
What's your advice on these? Isn't Win7 able to drive them on its own?

i usually prefer the manufacture driver rather than windows update drivers. unless windows update has a later version.

Why reimport any of the Acer bloatware which defeats the purpose of a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219487-clean-reinstall-factory-oem-windows-7-a.html#post1839164? Instead follow the steps in the blue link tutorial to get and keep a perfect reinstall fully without the corrupting, smothering bloatware.

The only software needed are drivers which will be provided during install and after getting online (put your wireless driver on a stick/CD just in case) during all rounds of Important and Optional Windows Updates after enabling http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/2803-device-installation-settings.htmlAutomatically get recommended drivers and updates for your hardware (Step 3)

If any drivers are missing after all rounds of Updates are completed import them from the Acer Support downloads webpage for your model. Don't import any software packages unless they are needed to make a driver (fingerprint reader, webcam, etc) functional to the degree you need it.

Ok, got your clues. I'm doing my restore now! :)
