What combination of display size/DPI/resolution should I be looking at in a monitor for best font rendering?
Should I go high DPI on, say, a small 19-20 inch screen, or go for a wide display?
I'd think, with a given DPI and resolution, rendering would be better on a smaller screen than on a larger screen.
But, I've been reading about scaling on high DPI displays and how that negatively affects rendering quality. If that's the case, perhaps I need to look for a size/DPI/resolution sweet spot that won't trigger scaling.
(For that matter, how, exactly, does Windows decide a display is high DPI?)
Any specific monitor vendors with good reputations in this area? What display technology is best for this?
Thanks.
