Solved What Device shall I get for £70

Since I didn't need to remove any Hard Drive's for this, will I need to remove any when installing the SSD (or was I just lucky?)

Hi,

Its always recommended to have only the hard drive that the installation is made to, plugged in - the reason for this is that during the Windows installation, some system files could be written to the other hard disk. You won't notice this difference until you plug that second disk out.

So, we always recommend to only have the one disk plugged in to the motherboard during installation to prevent this from happening. See this recent thread where exactly this problem occurred:

All you need to do, is unplug the SATA cable from the HDD/HDD's until your installation is complete. Once complete, shut down the PC, reconnect the SATA cables, and then reboot the PC.

Hmm, I have full formatted the 2nd Hard Drive though :huh: and nothing has corrupted.

Thats OK - both your MBR and system are on the same physical disk -this doesn't always happen this way. Compare your Disk Management image against the one in the thread I posted earlier.

Well I'll try installing from SSD first, and seeing if it adds everything to the SSD Drive as I want to avoid messing around with PC components.
