Hi
I have this scenario
ADSL modem that gives me Intrnet access through telephone wire ZTE 831cii - - - - > connected with tplink wifi router----> and some pcs are connected through wire to this router and other through wireless.

My pc os connected through wire to router. And u have statically set its ip settings. I have assigned it a dns address of 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4.

Now on the sequence of the devices the first one facing the world is the ZTE ADSL modem. It will be getting a dns address from isp. Then there is the tplink and it's getting its ip settings through dhcp on the ZTE modem therefore the dns for it is the ip private ip address of the ZTE modem. But this tplink is also acting as a dhcp and it is handing out its own ip address in the settings for dns. (not from the subnet which is running between the ZTE and this tplink but from a separate subnet which it handles to the clients.

And then in my pc it's Google dns.

So when from this particular pc I surf net etc which dns does the job?

If you have statically defined DNS servers in the computer they are the ones that will be used. The DNS servers that the router provides by DHCP are for computers that are configured to use them. Your PC has manual settings that override this.

If you have more than one computer you could manually configure the desired DNS servers in the router and leave the computers on default configuration. That way all will receive the DNS servers defined by you.
