What is the date of System restore, if system repair auto repairs

Hi,
My monitor suddenly become black when the system is still on. I had to force start the pc. The system resorted to auto system repair, with windows prompting windows did not start successful message. i allowed the same repairs. It opened system repairs and after a few minutes, prompted me to accept SR to a success boot. I agreed and system booted up then.
My question is , what is the date of system restore that was selected by the system to restore the pc. I even went to srtrails.txt in system32 folder to see. It just listed out the logs of the repair and did not contain the date. How to know this any idea? experts?
If that is known, then i could have searched for missing system applications and updates to update to present time

If it helps, it would normally use the most recent restore point available.

Hi, Brink Thanks for the reply. Do you say that the recent restore point is the latest file shown date in sthe srtrails.txt in the logs folder of system32 folder? I ask this because, if problematic applications, which i would have uninstalled would then be restored when that restore point would have been used by the system repair tool, which has to be noted and uninstalled again. If the log contains the system restore point details, then we could look in "affected programs" in system resote dialog box and then decide. A little more information pl

You could use step 3 in Option Two below to see what date it shows to undo a system restore, then cancel at step 9.

Hi, thanks for reply. But , on finding the SR point, it shows the created point after Directx installation. So, it would restore to the point before it installed. I suppose,
Brink, Please say if this DirectX is the problematic item? If it is , then why there was no alert on compatibility when the program tried to install the directx to my system? It was a appllication, which requires directx to run its program? Please,

That would be the date the restore point was created. The description is only for why the restore point was created. It doesn't mean that was what caused the issue.

This makes a good starting point to help determine what may have caused the issue though.

Hi, What would the direct X problem would have been associated with? Is the direct x version not compatible to my general graphic drivers? If not then, what? I do not think that it would have been written in windows logs also.
What is unspecified error in config. I checked sfc /scannow and found no errors.Now i have direct x 11 version and all the tab show "this device is working properly"
Microsoft article only points out what the tool does, without explaining what this unspecied error in config settings. How to specify the error, brink sir,

Hi, i read the microsoft article deeply and only found that 0x0 on the repairs conducted by system repair denote that repair went successfully. But some forum denote the 0x149 error and there was explanation for those specified code error. Unspecified , i presume , would refer to repairs done on all the things, without finding which is exactly the cause of the problem. May be that it is not covered in all the repairs. But the clue that you have given helped me that the problem might be related to directx. Since, a restore point was created before that installation, and it happened on the same day, i presume that it has got to do with the graphic drivers. But i could not go deep in to that. The log if it contains the exact problem, one would not allow those kind of direct x from third party applications.
Normally window alerts about compatability.If anything is known, please let me know
