Yes similar to express. Yes you can import Windows Mail to win7. It is a desktop client. A SevenForums tutorial can help you with installing it. However Win 7 is moving on to Windows Live Mail. That being the successor to OE and WM. I recommend skipping WM and going to WLM. Good luck to you with your mail solution.

Thank you for your reply,
I wanted to keep my present address! With that in my I am on the net with my internet provider, but that is an other step or click, and there are too many commercials, too slow, but it does job...I am using program for a client called "essentialPM", it is ok but it is not OE...and I am used to that......I am interested in trying WM....so what is my next step?? my system is w7 x32 ultimate

Kas Tutorial for making Windows Mail work for you, You will also need to find the files from vista x86 for 32 bit. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/5481-windows-mail.html
I wish I could help you with that but I do not have the files as I only have x64 files and they will not work with 32 bit.
The wlm works on the desktop just like you want, Have you looked at the link provided above by rsvr ?
