Solved When running CHKDSK /R is there a way to skip over a single folder

I have a large photo folder with tons of .jpg picts.

It takes all night to run a chkdsk /r which I like to do after a crash or periodic maintenance.

Is there a way to skip over one big folder when doing a chkdsk?

I'm using Win7-Pro 64

There is something wrong with your disk.
chkdsk /r doesn't check folders or files. It check disk structure.

Instead or /r use /f.

/f : Fixes errors on the disk. The disk must be locked.
/r : Locates bad sectors and recovers readable information. The disk must be locked.

If chkdsk cannot lock the drive, a message appears that asks you if you want to check the drive the next time you restart the computer.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I have 2 comp, the 2nd is cloned.
The one w/o the pics takes about 3hrs vs overnight for the one with the pics.

Are you saying that /r forces it to check the entire disk(or just do more work) whereas /f does not?

Check disk /r will check every cluster (with and without data) to see if it's good, that is why it takes so long. It only make sense if you suspect that the disk is failing.
Check disk /f will check the logical structure on the disk. I only do chkdsk /f after a wrong shut down.
