They are the same brand. The difference is the graphics card and HDD. Please tell me your opinion and why you think that.

The second one because it has a larger HDD and the onboard video card on the laptop is a bit better then the first one.
Even though the first one has a SSD I would prefer more memory over the faster boot and write speed. The choice is yours though so you would have to decide but this is my opinion.

I forgot to mention that I have a HDD plugged with usb so I don't need the space, so don't judge from that.

And perhaps I should also mention that I will use the laptop mainly for games, GTAIV, COD MW2-3. Have that in mind when you judge also :p

well the geforce gt 550 would run better then the geforce gt 520 so I would go with the seconded option still. You can read about the video cards in the laptop on these two articles describing there capabilities and uses and so on.
NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M - Notebookcheck.net Tech
NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M - Notebookcheck.net Tech

Anyways the one with the gt 550 would run games better then the one with gt 520

GEFORCE GT 550 Description
Performance
The performance of the GT 555M is highly dependent on the version of the card (see above). The 3DMark 06 performance, for example, ranges from 8857 points (Lenovo Ideapad Y570) to 13000 points (MSI GX780R). For all intents and purposes, the GT 555M in the Lenovo is therefore essentially a fast GeForce 550M. The average GT 555M (with 144 shaders) is positioned in the lower high end class and enables users to play demanding games in high settings at 1366x768. Only Metro 2033 had to be played in lower settings during our benchmark tests (see below).

Geforce GT 520 description
Performance
As an entry level card, the GT 520M has to compete against the Intel HD Graphics 3000 in the current Sandy Bridge processors. In our tests, the card was only slightly faster, but the better driver support did make a difference. However, demanding games like Battlefield 3 or The Witcher 2 are not playable. Other modern games only run in low details, and therefore gamers wont be pleased with the performance. Low demanding games like Fifa 12, however, are playable with high detail settings.

So if your going to play stuff like GTA IV i highly recommend the 2nd laptop

you can have a faster read but a crappy frame rate with the other video card on games, just add a SSD later. The one with the SSD, the frame rate will suffer in video games. Remember that on laptops what ever video card is on it your stuck with it and can't change it in the future so choose wisely the HDD can be changed in the future to a SSD. Just remember that

Thor, I got this off PCWorld two weeks ago while researching laptops. They said that you should never buy a "home" laptop, only a "business" laptop. Home laptops are designed to sit at your desk, while business laptops are designed to be carried around.

Even if they are less powerful, business laptops will last longer because they are more rugged.

PC world aren't the most reliable source for advice pal, personally I'de do a bit more research ... I wonder what they would say if you wanted to run a business laptop from home ... a laptop no matter what type is designed to be carried around and there is no difference between a business laptop and a home version of the same model, it's the components that make a difference
