Hi Folks,
If I changed the setting in my image to use Google DNS servers with OpenDNS servers set in my Netgear router. Which DNS servers would be used ?

To change your computers DNS you would click Use the Following DNS Server Addresses.

In Preferred DNS Server put : 8.8.4.4
In Alternate DNS Server put: 8.8.8.8

Oh sorry. It should use your computers DNS rather than the routers.

Can you give a short explanation why. I thought the router DNS setting would be used as its what is used to connect to the Internet.

Yes but at the minute your computer looks at the router for a DNS to use. However changing that tells your computer not to look at the router for a DNS.

If you are looking at blocking people using a different DNS you may be able to block this on your router.
