What can you upgrade on a laptop, internally that is, apart from RAM, HDD and PCiE/PCMCIA cards?

If you need something upgraded surely you'd be aware of where you are needing a boost...

You can upgrade your HDD to the largest they come in, for your machine. Usually the best place to search for such info is on your machine's vendor site.

I should think 180Gb is enough, you should be looking to get an external storage if you want bigger or it in the TBs.

Depending on your needs an external hard drive may be the way to go. I am in the market for one, but I cannot find any with a long life expectancy.

Long life expectancy for your device, is all relative. Depends on how you use the device. You know that right?

You will have to see what is available for your laptop at your local computer store, OR the store where u bought the laptop from. If your machine's still under warranty, i would suggest you do your upgrades with the shop you bough it from. I have search on acer site and can't any upgrades availble for your model.

I have a WD black 7200rpm drive in my netbook... it gets warm, but hell, the thing's under warranty... if you're thinking of something over 320Gb then I'd recommend you stay below 6,000rpm however... ;)
