I got my copy from Digital Rivers years ago. I guess I would be legal with a Clean Install. I use Macrium Restores rather than a Clean Install anyway. I would never go to a Torrent site. I just found that the MS License Wording was rather strange.

I don't think that is correct. There is no difference in burning a copy of your Win 7 for a friend or the friend D/L a copy from the Internet. Same file.

Um... How is what you are saying different from the poster you quoted was saying?

He says you can't burn one for a friend and I say you can.

I should've been a bit more clear, sorry, in my interpretation of the law.

If a friend has a valid license to the software and has lost the original and has no way to burn one for themselves ( locked out of pc [ needs the disc to repair or whatever ] or doesn't own a burner [ happens ] ), I believe the law would would be on your side.

However, if the friend doesn't have a license then there would likely be an issue because they'd otherwise not have access to that software ( if it can only be accessed / downloaded AFTER purchasing the software; if the software is downloadable to anyone that has an internet connection [ by the author of the software ] then you should have no issue either ).
