Hi, This is annoying me.
Each time of shutting down and log on , my internet lights turns to blank from green and then dsl goes off. It remains for a few seconds , then dsl starts blinking, stay green and then internet light turns red and then to green. This is daily happening. please see the dns client error 1014
I tried all sorts of tricks, but could not stop from this error.
can i expect a quick fix

How do you connect with a router or a modem? The DNS error is happening because the DSL is down and it can't connect so that is normal it's down to if it's a router that should login but if you have a modem the PC may login not the modem

Hi, I am having a dlilnk 2730U modem and router combo.
How the dsl is down is my query. Do you mean to say that when you log in, the dsl will have to blink and then regain the connection?
I normally look only for the error the red flags in event viewer.
But on every log on, i find this event id 1014, which is annoying.
What is the clue to my error?
should everyone experience this on logon. I do not think so.
I tried with the laptop, having xp OS with the same ethernet modem connection, and there was no loss or cut of dsl and internet. It is puzzling me.
I tried all the solutions given for this at msoft link, but it could not solve it.

On a lot of routers there is a setting idle timeout which drops the line or sleeps when idle that would do it when you then boot up it comes back up you will get errors to start as it can't contact DNS so in the logs from start how long do you get the errors before it's up? If your logging in with ms account it will try and connect on start XP won't do that so won't give errors

Hi, I have configured as always and zero idle time in my router.i even updated the network card drivers of my pc from realtek.com. But reboot gives this problem always.
Will the wireless has anything to do with it.
I am using wireless connection thro the router, to connect to my smart phones to avoid mobile data usage.
Would that be any issue.
It also allots internal ips to those devices. Will it cut and regain , when i shut down the pc? When i log on each time, i get a different external ips. These are the clues. But only experts like you could give me the solution.

Not clear on that if the pc is getting an external IP it normally shouldn't the router should be set as NAT so should get an IP 192.168 or similar. If it's getting an external one your PC is live on the net which means any hacker can access it. With NAT there is no direct access. If it gets external there will be a delay getting and IP from ISP which would give the problem

Hi, I said that i could see the external Ip in the router changing on every log on, because of this cut and regain of dsl on every log on.
The lilst of dns clinet list my internal ips of the devices.
Now, i think, i made it clear.
