Why there is no guide for Windows Firewall?

Glad, again I want to ask something. I'm looking for the best settings or configuration for Windows Firewall on Windows 7. But there is no tutorial or guide I can find about this. Can Windows Firewall default settings protect me against inbound attacks or somewhat from foreign users ? Or should I enter all about the configuration settings like outbound and inbound rules? I don't know much thing about which service Windows and other 3rd party programs use in my computer, so If I try to add something like extra rules may it cause some problems. What is the best or good advanced settings for Windows Firewall ? Please look at this problem and help me once again.

get a better firewall instead, i suggest Comodo or PC-Tools...
they are the best & both are FREE.

windows firewall can be configured to block outgoing connections but it requires a lot of work.

You're much better off getting a third party application. There are many good products out there, the best free ones IMO are Comodo & Zone Alarm. However, ZA has dropped the ball when it comes to Windows 7 compatibility so I'd recommend Comodo. It takes a second or two to figure out how to setup custom rules but once you've gotten used to the program it's fairly powerful. Not only can it control incoming traffic and visibility to possible attackers but it can also control the access of internal applications to the outside.

Though Windows 7 does provide a good amount of security but it is always advisable to have a little extended support and Comodo is the best one that you can opt for. I would recommend you to try installing Comodo, this is a third party application that has worked for many of them.
