Wi-Fi Issue -- Please help!

I have an iPhone 11 and an almost new Lenovo E570 laptop, Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit (do not want Windows 10).

I have been trying for over 3 months to get a wi-fi connection on the laptop using the iPhone hotspot. I’ve searched nearly everywhere on the net for a workable answer. Nothing! I’ve tried wireless usb adapters. Nothing! I’ve been advised to change the wifi adapter settings, which I did….Nothing!

I do not have a landline…only the iPhone 11.

Can I use a router with the iPhone? If so, how?

What am I missing???

Help, please, before I smash the computer!
