I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on a 120GB Corsair Force SSD and have 1GB of ram with Intel Pentium 4 processor 2.93GHz but It gets a little choppy & laggy when using ram and cpu intensive software such as picture and video editing/rendering and virtualization software such as VMWare so will using Readyboost feature in Windows 7 with an 8GB flash drive help at all maybe even seem like I have 2GB Ram or does it only effect caching/reading times that improves browsing explorer ?
See System Specs tab for further additional info
Operating System:
Windows 7 Ultimate
Processor:
Intell Pentium 4 CPU 2.93GHz
Flash Drive: HP v190 8GB
Ram:
1:00GB
Storage:
2x 2TB WD Caviar Green HDD
1x Corsair Force 120GB SDD (Running my OS)
2x 2TB WD Caviar Green drives in NAS Raid 1
Edit: I know I'd benefit more from a simple ram upgrade but I don't wish to spend that money just yet as I prefer to run this computer in to the ground as I've had it coming up 7 years and was an entry level and low performance computer to start with.. in my future computer I'd junk £1500 to £2000 in self build so want as much value out this first and beside I feel I don't know enough about components to proceed with the build just yet
Short answer No, long answerNO because ready boost does not act as ram or as aid to the CPU it acts as a cahce for superfetch, if you had a mechanical HDD it might speed things up, but you have an ssd so your read and write times are about as good as they are going to get. here is a link to a thread that probably explains things better than I can: http://www.sevenforums.com/performance-maintenance/201571-how-does-readyboost-work.html

The simple answer is NO. You have 1 gig of ram which is just not enough ram to run Windows 7 correctly. I would add more ram specified for your motherboard.
