Win-7 partition issue

It is useful. It boots the operating System.

If you don't want it, then go ahead and Mark C Partition Active and run Startup Repair - Run 3 Separate Times to see if it will start with System flag on C, since sometimes C can't be made to boot itself and you must move the Active flag back. Only when System is on C should SysReserved be deleted.

And the space is too small to bother with resizing C into, which presents it's own (unnecessary) risks.

Going forward, if one doesn't want it then pre-partition the HD before install using a bootable partition manager like Partition Wizard. Again, more wasted time and for what benefit?

Please don't kill me :-)

I'm just a messenger. those are exactly the kind of points I wanted to discuss before moving forward and deleting system preserved partition.

Do I sound the least bit annoyed? I'm not.

I answer questions like this 365 days a year for 5 years without missing a day since Win7 was in beta. I don't take any of this personally, especially System Reserved partition. ;)

No did not mean that, that is why I put the smiley after that...

Ignatz gives good help and is one of the best here. We just have differing opinions which you can choose from. He says its disposable. I say its not worth the effort, or even the time to give it a second thought.

So you two make life miserable for newbies like us with your conflicting views, is that what you're saying :D:D:D

I thought it would be a relief to know that there's nothing that needs changing .

Misery would be getting stuck in the middle of changing it over. Then we become like trauma surgeons. One of the rescue methods is constructing a new System Reserved partition.

But if you like to experiment, be sure to back up a System Image first. Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup
