I just installed Win7 64bit on my new SSD disc.

I have 2 discs:
1 SSD 120GB
1 Normal 500GB

After installation I cannot locate my other HDD. If I unplug it I cannot boot.

I think its a problem with the master boot record. If I unplugg the 500gb and run windows recovery and try to install a new MBR, it fails. If I replug in the other drive and reboot again everything runs smooth.

Any suggestions?

Mount or dismount a drive

look at mounting the drive, it likely exists and even appears under disk management and just needs to be assigned a drive letter and have the remaining space possibly formatted.
Do not interfere with the 100mb reserved mbr or you will kill the system.
My guess is the 500 gb is located at the disk 0 slot, this is the reason windows put the mbr on it.

Please post back a screenshot of your full Disk Mgmt drive map with listings showing all columns, using Snipping Tool in Start Menu. We will give you the steps to recover the System boot files from the other drive they were incorrectly placed upon.

The reason the system won't boot with the 500GB drive unplugged is the boot files are on that drive.
They shouldn't be but they are. This seems to be a common problem when switching out drives and reloading the OS with all drives connected. I think it has to do with the new drive not being partitioned and formatted before the OS install starts. The OS install routine sees the secondary drive as the ONLY USABLE drive in the system and set that as the storage place for the boot loader files.
Other may have ways to correct this without doing a complete new install. I don't and if it was my PC I'd start over with only the drive you want the OS to be installed on connected.
