Win 7 The sims double deluxe problems

Hi, i have Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and i want to install The sims double deluxe,the first sims NOT the sims 2, and i get no autorun and the only 4 files in the CD are the ones on the picture i attached, and when i try to open the RARs it says that their either are damaged or unknown format, and i even tried to install Virutal PC and got Win xp for it and ran the CD from there and it was the same 4 files but instead of RAR there was Cabinet files, wich i understood was the same as rar but older. Anyone know how to install a old game like this in Win 7?

Hi Carolineij and welcome to the forums.
It should be possible to get this game running on Windows 7 64 bit.
OK first of all look in Control Panel Folder Options and View Tab. Uncheck Don't show hidden files, folders, or drives.Uncheck the three hides starting with Hide empty drives. See screen shot.

Your screen should then look like the second screen shot (Icons my be different depending on programs installed). Right click on the SETUP.exe and RUN as ADMINISTRATOR and it should run set up as normal.
You may have to change the properties in the icon tab to run as ADMIN and set to XP compatibility mode.

It should have 3 more files. Also is that a official copy of the game. Because it doesn't look like it has all the files that EA puts on there discs.
