win7 mc extender other than xbox360?

Sorry for asking again,
I have setup a win7mc with ceton quad cable card.
Reworked defective xbox360s to work as media extenders.
Works great except for:
loud fan
more than 100 watts

Any other media extender out there for watching recorded TV??
old/new/discontinued?

Any hint that win7 pc might configure as a extender in future?

Ceton Echos should be for sale by the end of summer. Check their website for details. My only hope is that they set the price of the Echo at or very near what we can get used/repaired xbox360s for on Craigslist.

You are not the only one who uses xboxes for extenders that have the same complaints. Hopefully the Echo will solve all your worries. (also has Gig LAN!)
