Win7 w XP Mode vs SCSI

Despite exhaustive exploration & testing, I have not been able to get Win7 RTM to properly run my SCSI hard drives.

Though my XP OS & hardware passed MS's WIN7 compatible test and my actual 32bit Win7 RTM install, recognizes my Adaptec 2940U2W PCI SCSI Host AND successfully installs latest available** XP\Vista 32bit drivers, my SCSI DVDrom & HD's will not function properly.

[** - Adaptec will not update this driver beyond Vista compatibility]

After ""successfully"" loading the SCSI host drivers, both my AHCI SATA & SCSI drives are visible in 'My Computer' BUT NOT in native Win7 'Computer Management' & 'Storage' / 'Disk Management' screens for drive management. In fact, when selected, 'Disk Management' loops/hangs & becomes non-responsive and requires a hard reboot to clear.

Has anyone else with "SCSI's" experienced this?

Has anyone with any brand / type of SCSI controller & drive combo, succeeded in BOTH installing & properly running same?

Does anyone know if the upcoming 'XP mode' patch update will enable 'true' SCSI drive usage within Win7?

Thanks

No, "xp mode" will not help your install of windows 7 to see your real hardware. It just doesnt work that way. If the vista drivers dont work, then i hate to say it but your out of luck. You can give the windows xp drivers a try, but thats your only recourse.

For XP Mode to run you have to have Windows 7 installed and running. XP Mode is not a way to use Seven, it is an application that runs XP in a virtual process in Seven so it has nothing to do with SCSI usage.
