Hello all,

I have been suffering from multiple intermittent BSOD's for a few weeks now (11 BSODs in less than 3 weeks) on my laptop. For this I have contacted HP support twice and had an engineer visit me and try to rectify the problem. As a result, the motherboard of the unit has been replaced last week which seemed to fix the problem before it starting happening again in the past few days, seemingly worse and more frequent than before.

I have done full virus scans, and the HP engineer has run Memory test, Hard disk test all of which have not given any untoward result. The BSOD's also seem to occur mainly when I am connected to the Internet using my Wireless router.

I have attached the DM Log Collector file with hopefully all 11 BSOD dumps.

Thanks a lot for reading this, have a good one.

Update the Atheros Driver.

Sometimes drivers remain and do not get completely uninstalled.

  • Download Driver Sweeper to the desired location.
  • Extract the files from the zip.
  • Uninstall the driver Program & Features - Control Panel.

 Clean boot

Reduce items at start-up. No software except anti-virus is required plus doing this improves the time for logging into windows:
Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:
  • Click on the :orb:
  • Type CMD on Search
  • Left click and Run as Administrator
  • Type SFC /scannow
