Solved Windows 7 BCDEDIT can't find boot store as it is on the XP partition.

The RAID throws a curve ball at the REpair working correctly. If these RAID volumes are not System or OS then I would unplug them during the operations so they don't interfere.

I'd also consider why I need RAID since it seems to confer no advantage except when video editors need huge drive space for projects. There is no redundancy since if you lose one drive, you lose both. Better with built-in drive imaging to use separate HD's with one holding backup image.

The Raid 1 system is mirroring. The second drive is a perfect image of the first one. I've had drive failures and replaced the failing device all the while the system ran on the backup drive. Since one drive is a mirror of the other they both have the same boot/partition stuff. When I installed Windows 7 it noticed the Raid setup but did not ask for drivers. When the system was up and running I was asked to allow Intel Raid drivers update and said yes and I got the 64 bit support.

If I get the PW code that runs under Windows 7 and if it can make the change to the active and primary things, then perhaps the WRE three times might get things right and the firmware will take care of updating the "mirror".
