The RAID throws a curve ball at the REpair working correctly. If these RAID volumes are not System or OS then I would unplug them during the operations so they don't interfere.
I'd also consider why I need RAID since it seems to confer no advantage except when video editors need huge drive space for projects. There is no redundancy since if you lose one drive, you lose both. Better with built-in drive imaging to use separate HD's with one holding backup image.
