The case for late 2009 has just got a whole lot stronger. A sharp-eyed reader recently noticed something of a revealing sentence on the company's WinHEC site. WinHEC, Microsoft's annual conference for hardware developers, takes place this year in early November. What makes this significant is that it will be the last WinHEC before Windows 7 is realeased. Assuming that Microsoft holds a WinHEC 2009 event, this puts the RTM date of Windows 7 some time between now and the end of 2009, ruling out early 2010.
