Hey All,

I have setup the Windows 7 RC 3days ago and since now the network have worked fine. Today, after I booted the Windows 7 I can't connect to network while as you see the XP can. I connect to the network via TP-Link router. I have tried to setup the router but it has shown that I have connected to the network but I still couldn't use the net.
Could you help me what's wrong?

Thanks,
Gajka

First Check to see if your cable is connected...

So your XP computer can connect to the internet but Windows 7 can not correct??

The last part you said about setting up your router please explain.. I thought you were already connect to the internet??

Yes my XP computer can connect to the internet while my 7 not.

The router thing is:
When you buy a router you got an IP adress for the router and first you have to visit that adress to setup you PPPOE connection. (Sorry I have not mentioned that my internet is PPPOE). So you visit the router's IP to setup the connection and then everything is fine. I tried it in 7 but after the router connected to PPPOE the 7 still cant connect to the internet.

Have you tried disabling IPV6 ? Some old routers do not like this....

Hmmm.. Can you ping your XP computer from Windows 7??

If you can ping your router and other PC your local network is working..

What are the specs of your router?? and does anything connect to your router for your ISP like a modem or phone line or cable line??

All right so here is how the computer connected to the net: computer-->router-->modem(PPPOE; for ADSL connection)-->the world.
I dont know whats wrong because the firewall of w7 can't block the connection coz it has worked 3 or 4 days ago...
I dont know my router specs but here is a description about my router

If you could get on 3 or 4 days ago I would reset the modem and the router.. just un plug them for 30 seconds or so.. They will then reset their IP addresses and also refresh the IP address on your computers..

Your router might also be blocking you Windows 7 IP address from accessing the internet.... in your router there are rules that if set can block you from the internet(like a firewall) I would also check that....

Hope this Helps..
