please help me fix this i didn't do anything i was on vacation for a week and i came back and turned my computer on and it says windows activation and my desktop is black and in the corner it says build 7601 not genuine please help ASAP

ok so i found my product key but its still gives me the same error but it says no key mangement service kms could be contracted please tell me how to fix this one

Windows Enterprise Editions are not available for sale pre-installed, or to the genral public - they are only sold in bulk to organisations for use on their own machines.

Your Key is the KMS Volume Licensing key - which must be activated against the issuing organisation's own servers - there is no data in the rport which sugests that such an organisation has ever touched this PC.


Is there a COA sticker on teh machine? If so, for what version and edition of Widows is it valid? - the sticker will be on the base, or inside the battery compartment.


...and your installation of Office is also a Volume Licensed edition - which will be counterfeit, unless provided by your employer or college.

yes there is a sticker on the base i tried entering that but it says
this product key will not work on this edition of windows 7 you must either run windows 7 setup or enter a windows 7 enterprise key

Now please answer the question asked originally - for what version and edition of Windows is the COA sticker valid?
You will have to reformat and reinstall using the proper manufacturer's Recovery media, or a downloaded/borrowed DVD for THAT version and edition of Windows.

You MUST reinstall using the proper Recovery media for your machine, or the proper disk in conjunction with the COA Key. Unless you do that, your installation will continue to be classed as counterfeit.
