Hi,

I need some help, I'm at wits end here. I have a sound blaster XtremeGamer card and I just upgraded to windows 7 64bit professional. Since upgrading, the right sound channel is "busted" for software such as games.

The odd thing is when I hit the "test" buttons in the driver settings, the right channel rings with the windows test sound. When I play music, game or use anything else that produces sound, the sound is so faint, so whisper quiet, that I basically can only hear the left channel.

The balance controls are not messed up, and I can almost sort've fix it for music by reducing the balance control on the left to 20, instead of 100, and leaving everything else at 100. As soon as I enter a game or reboot, the "fix" fails, and the left channel returns to blaring loud, and right whisper quiet.

This is either a windows 7 configuration issue, or an issue with the drivers. My speakers, headphones and backups are all in working order, as was the sound card in windows xp prior to my upgrade.

Can anyone make any suggestions? Creative lab's will not give me any measure of support, they don't answer my emails.

Seeing as a lot of people are having problems with Creative and its drivers, I would say this problem has to do with the drivers.

I'm afraid that isn't the case, I removed everything from creative labs and driver sweeper'd the system, then enabled onboard sound and gave it a spin, same issue. Lastly I went to fry's electronics and bought a D-link soundwave card, and again, same issue.

This is despite trying multiple headphones and speakers, too.
