Windows 7 SP1 beta rumored by end of 2009, RTM summer 2

The release of SP1 alone will no doubt result in a bump in Win7 sales. Based on past experiences there are many users and perhaps some corporations who are delaying their purchases of Win7 until the magical SP1 is out.

Yep.

I don't see why people are making such a big deal over seeing 'details' of a SP1 for Windows 7. I mean really, its not like Service Packs are the rare magical solution to problems, they mainly contain every important, between the time the OS was released and the service pack was released.

There is always hope of a new feature or two...

Remember Windows XP Service Pack 2? That one was magical

Never used XP Prior to SP3. I was stuck on a PC with Windows ME for a long time (about 2 years.. finally got the money for another PC that had Vista..)

If you get bored one day look up a list of known changes between XP Service Pack 1 and 2...

It is quite a list
