Windows 7 vs Windows XP Mode!

Hello!

I am now using Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 because I have just installed Windows XP Mode today.

In fact, I seemed to get two hardwares. (1. Windows 7 & 2. Windows XP Mode). I installed a lot of fonts in Windows 7. When I run Windows XP Mode in Windows 7, I can't find the fonts located in Windows 7. How can I get the fonts installed in Windows 7 to be used in Windows XP Mode without reinstalling? Or how can I share the fonts from Windows 7 to Windows XP Mode?

I am very sure if I install fonts again in Windows XP Mode, It will reduce the computer's speed.

Any help would be appropriated.

XP Mode is a virtual machine, meaning what is done in Windows 7 doesn't apply there, and vice versa. That's the point...to keep them isolated. If you want to have an app or fonts available in XP Mode, they will need to be installed there. Adding extra fonts in XP Mode, won't have any affect on the performance of your Windows 7 host machine.

For all intents and purposes, XP mode is the same as having a separate physical machine except that it is implemented in software.

Hi, all!


Will it be ok if I remove the fonts and most programs from Windows 7? For example, MS Word & Excel. CorelDRAW, Photoshop, Illustrator, Internet Program and most of the recent programs installed in Windows 7. I mean I won't install the programs and fonts I need to use in Windows 7. I will install those in Windows XP Mode instead, so is it better to do so? Will the hardware run well enough when running in Windows XP Mode?

XP Mode is meant for any old programs that won't run in Windows 7. If the software, like Word, Excel, Photoshop runs fine in Windows 7, leave it installed there.

I may not be understanding what the issue is here, but you should be installing everything in Windows 7....and anything that's not compatible can be installed to the XP Virtual Machine.

One way to simply install the newer Vista/Windows7 fonts to the XPMode system is to install the latest Powerpoint viewer to the XPMode installation:

To repeat, the only software you should be installing to your virtual Windows XP is legacy software that won't run under Windows 7, so uninstalling applications from Windows 7 and installing them in XP Mode is totally counter-productive.

To find your XP virtual machine click Start>All Programs>Virtual PC and you'll find XP Mode there.
