Solved Windows Backup to WD MyBook 3TB Drive Fail. error 0x8078002A

The backup makes it about halfway through then "CHECK YOUR BACKUP" pops up. Details: "One of the files could not be created. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error!" As far as I can tell, everything is up to date. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Personally, I don't recommend WD drives, too many customers have had issues.

Check your drive as you have Input/Output errors.

By reading your thread title, Windows Backup? I don't like Win Backup for several reasons, nor do I like Restore Points. Both fail when you need then. Past experience!

I use AOMEI Backupper Standard (free) and it is recommended on Sevenforums.

Sevenforums also recommends Macrium Reflect free, although I as others find the Graphical User Interface (GUI) more difficult to navigate. They both perform the same basic functions.

The link to Macrium is MajorGeeks, if you go directly to Macrium the make you jump through hoops for the download, i.e. email address, click on link nonsense.

Major geeks has link to Macrium download and download directly from MajorGeeks, which is a reputable download site.
