Hello,

I have these files in a folder:
AR_firstname-lastname2_until_now.txt
contract_lastname-firstname.doc
contract_lastname-firstname.txt
doc_lastname-firstname_2016-09-09.doc
doc_lastname-firstname_2016-09-09.txt
doc_Lastname-Firstname_2016-09-19.txt
Searching for these pattern using Windows Explorer Search filter lists all expected files: last, first, lastname, 09
Searching for these pattern lists nothing at all: name, irst, firstname, 9

This gets really annoying when the folder contains several hundred files named like AB-UVW123XYZ-DDR4x512-R2.png

There seems to an automatically run algorithm which falsely interprets my search pattern.
All I want is plain text search. Is there a way to set this up?

Thanx

Hi torchwood,

thank you for mentioning the second post. I found a solution there.

Usually I stop reading a thread or tutorial when it starts explaining indexing or search path settings. That is what most of them concentrate on. But in my case indexing was off. I was only looking at the actual folder.
