Gadgets feature turned off

Hey Dixon, i have downloaded to gadgets so far Network Monitor & System Monitor II but dont know how to run it because its a .gadget file & after trying to run or open it ask me to chose how to open this format from internet or open in with other program. it seems i have turned off gadget feature on my Windows 7 x86 Ultimate so could you help to run it back on.

Can you right click on your desktop a select Gadgets? Try to run one. That shoudl start the sidebar. If not, go to Program Files\Windows Sidebar\ and click on sidebar.exe

Dixon cant view Gadget option on right click & .exe file in windows sidebar as well because i've disabled it from registry but dont remember the path for it, its been a while. so guys help me with getting that going & i'm sure things will be fine. Hey guys websites that you have suggested have gadget supported on x64 but i have x86 so kindly help me with weblink for x86....thnx for all info & support....

Hey Doc i followed option two but still not working & strange i can't .exe file in c:\Program Files\windows sidebar folder now what to do??? please dont tell me that i lost or is there a way to get it Except Reinstalling the OS...which i hate doin & is a nightmare....

Scroll down to Windows Gadget Platform. If it is checked, uncheck and reboot PC. Go back and check it again and reboot. See if gadgets are back. If indeed you disabled it through another method:

I got it the problem was that desktop gadget was disabled from control panel.
link: control panel\type "features" in search box\turn windows features on or off\scroll down & check Desktop gadget platform\click OK & you are good to go & now its working for me.
Thanx for the support from all you guys that made my Idle brain to work(which i dont use except while sleeping)....
