Windows Live Mail and Security

Update

To satisfy my own mind I ran the GFI test via the link from the opening post of this thread.

It sent 21 test emails with pseudo threats.
  • 11 went to the junk file.
  • 10 went to the Inbox
Of the 10 in the Inbox, Avast detected 2 of them as potential threats.

If the other 8 emails contained attachments that could be opened, my security had failed the test.

None of them contained attachments. This was despite having the following WinLiveMail security option unticked: Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus.

So in essence I got a 100% clean bill of health, with Preview Pane switched on.

Pretty much the same here. I was only able to receive Eight. Two went to Junk, Six went to the Inbox with four having supposed attachments which were not able to do anything here. I tried to save one attachment but it was blocked by AppGuard from even thinking about my User Space. Two of the six claimed to have attachments but were not able to get through. <--- According to the help, that was a good thing unless I misunderstood.
