Hi!

My laptop is an old IBM Thinkpad T43 and there is no windos key logo in the keyboard.

There is any way in Windows 7 to set up other key to do the windows logo key function?

Sorry for my bad english :o

I think that is the Fn + F8 (usually) combination, right? That might be there even if he doesn't have the Windows key.
jluisc79, let us know
Anyway, I never understood why you have that key while you can just click Start?

the windows key can be used in combination with other keys to do stuff.

eg winkey+r = run

i'm not sure if the op meant to combine keys, or just to see the start menu.

Exactly... i would like to use the shortcuts made through windows key logo:

- Windows + L to Lock Computer
- Windows + P to switch projection modes (clone, extend, single, multiple monitors, etc.)
- Windows + Tab

Thanks

adjust screen brightness up (F7 for down), at least on my laptop. but Ctrl+Esc (or click start ;)) then typing displayswitch.exe works when connected to a projector (ie, external output). But there are third-party programs available to re-map for instance the left Ctrl Key as the Win Key (Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator) don't mess about too much tho, u don't wanna screw everything up.

You want keyboard macros. If you can code, Windows will support this with built-in or included tools. If you can code, you know that.

So, search Google for keyboard macro tools or try the links provided.

Thanks to all for the quick answers.

Keymapper doesn't work.

Actually trying with Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator.

I'll post after the testing.

Finally I found the right key map software after trying many of them.

SharpKeys 3.0 works great!

72KB is the total size and it's under Microsoft Public Licence.

Anyway thanks a lot to all of you, this forum is great!
