Hi,

I was looking at the Tutorial by Mr GRiM about re-instating Windows Mail in Windows 7. I followed everything and it seemed to go alright. The only problem was that when I tried to start the application, nothing happens. Can anyone help?

Thanks
Jake

Which Windows 7 do you have, 32 or 64 bit? If you are trying to re-install a 32 bit Windows Mail from Vista, and you have a 64 bit Windows 7, it won't work. That was my case. I've been trying to find a 64 bit copy of Windows Mail that I could download but no luck so far. Good luck.

Did you take ownership of both Windows Mail? ( 7 & Vista ) I had Vista 32 and went with 7 x64 so I can't really tell you how it works because it won't work with mine. I'll try to help you find a solution though.

This is the quote from another poster that used the same tutorial that you used...

It's amazing how well things work when you follow the instructions to the letter. On my first attempt, I didn't do that and got Negative Results.

So, I printed out the instructions and again tried it, verbatim. The results were completely different and IT WORKS !!!

Even more important than getting Windows Mail to work was the little script "Take Ownership".
That is absolutely FABULOUS !!!

After running that little script, I can now do all sorts of things in Vista and Win-7 that I could never do before.
A Million THANKS for that script.
I've been looking for that, or something like it ever since Vista first came out.

Pen & paper until you get the printer working. Or if you have a laptop/2nd computer that you could view the tutorial on until you get it installed and working.
