Solved Windows Media Player - How do I Open a File From D:\MyImageFiles\...

I cannot see how to open a file I've saved using Windows Media Player.

I have no patience for Procrustean approaches like MS Libraries, etc. If I take photos with my iPhoneSE they are here:

D:\MyImageFiles\MyPictures\AppleSE_Photos....(where there follows a 6 character starting date and then image files under that folder.

Most sensible software allows one to easily navigate to "This Computer" and then find the drive and drill down.

Is there a 'hidden way' to access files stored using my filing system and Windows Media Player?

I think you would be better off using the Windows Photo Gallery. You can specify the location directly.

Also, you can add folders for pictures in the Windows Media Center. Subsequently, they will be available in Windows Media Player.

VLC Solved My Problem

Thanks for the reply. I persisted and learned how to use the more versatile VLC Media Player.
It is not obvious, but it does include a 'Media' option on the top menu bar that opens access to what one usually finds under 'File' so it is trivial to drill down to a file folder of choice.
VLC includes a 'hot key' that pauses playback frame-by-frame so that the user can select an image to be snipped and taken to PhotoShop to be edited. It is limited to stepping forward; a reverse version is apparently a major software challenge.

I've been occasionally using VLC Player for years. I've also got a number of other players.
