I'd like to keep the context menu's minimal; everything I don't use: I don't want it shown.
Paint Shop Pro added a 'Open' entry when you do 'File' in File Explorer. I didn't want that.

So I _disabled_ the single entry 'Open' for extensions ".bmp,.jif,.jpeg,.jpg,.jsl,.png,.psp,.tif,.tub" and Filetype 'PSP7.Image' in shmnview.exe (ShellMenuView program v1.41). After that: suddenly, jpg-files aren't opened anymore with PSP, when I just hit the Enter-key, while having selected a jpg-file in File Explorer. In stead, it opens a jpg with Paint. Very strange! ShellMenuView should only edit context menu's; nothing else.
But if I want to (re)set jpg extensions to be opened with PSP, it already says PSP is the default program to open jpg. It also doesn't help if I re-install PSP or re-register jpg to PSP within PSP itself: Windows keeps opening jpg-files (and bmp files) with Paint. Very strange! Also, it doesn't help if I choose IrfanView temporary and then PSP again, for example... It still won't open jpg's with PSP.
If I re-enable the 'Open' entry for extensions ".bmp,.jif,.jpeg,.jpg,.jsl,.png,.psp,.tif,.tub" and Filetype 'PSP7.Image' in shmnview.exe, suddenly it works correctly again; jpg-files are opened with PSP.

But then I have that very pesky and totally useless 'Open' option again in File Explorer (for jpg and other image formats)...
Any solution?

Go to Control Panel, Default Programs, Associate a file type......................................... What program is set as the default for .jpg? If it's set to Paint, change it to PSP.
