Solved Windows Seven Slideshow

Tonight I was fooling around with Windows and I discovered the built-in Wallpaper Slideshow. I made a folder and d/l some wallpaper. The problem I ran into wa that every wallpaper on the slideshow was blurry. They were not sharp like when you just put one image in from the preloaded wallpaper that came with Win 7. Has anyone else run into this? I am thinking that maybe the wallpaper was not not the right size for my resolution and so they did not show correctly. Can anyone give me some hints on what might have gone wrong? Thanks

Hello Jim

For the best picture quality, the image pixel dimensions should be the same as the screen resolution. You might also try different Picture position (step 6) settings to see if one may look better than the other.

I searched for a site that had my resolution of wallpaper. I found this site that looked really good. Widescreen 1440x900 Desktop Backgrounds, Wallpapers and Pictures The widescreen 1440X900 is what I have mine set at. I d/l some and they still did not look right on my desktop. They look too big, I went though all of the positions, fill, fit, etc., but no help. I am at a loss.

How did you download those?

It gave me an EXE file to install them. Not sure I trust that. Otherwise if you just right click on the and save it, it will be a 500x375 image instead.

I just did a right click and saved in my directory. I guess that is where I am messing up. It changes the resolution then. I would not d/l using the exe. Do you know of any safe places to get some good wallpaper? Thanks for your help.

I found some pretty good 1400x900 wallpapers at the Google link below. You can verify the image size by looking in the Windows Explorer details pane after downloading them.
