Windows startup problem

Hi pals

I have these problems: 1. When during startup my PC seem to hang/freeze. 2. It seem to stuck or freeze at 'windows is starting' screen. 3. At safe mode when it load the drivers it freeze when it about to load. 4. When you click in any folder or program it load only at a very very long time and when I click shutdown it took hours to shut off.

I am waiting to hear someone to help me solve it. Thanks.

My OS.Windows 7 Pro. x86 Ram 4GB.

On the surface it sounds like a bad hard drive.

Hi

if its only getting as far as line 4 in safe mode, sounds like a major component driver, as F22 said likely HDD going bad
suggest you back up your data to an external source..

you could try the 2 standard fix's
run from an admin command mode
sfc /scannow (notice the space)
chkdsk/r


other option
HARD shutdown using the power button.... press and HOLD button..startup then again... 3 times
should put it into a repair mode

Thanks for the reply by F22 Simpilot and torchwood. Regarding torchwood reply I am not very clear regarding other option. Using power button (is it the front casing power ON button) press and hold on until it start then OFF and ON again for 3 times. Please explain I am not at that high level yet. Regarding the scan I am sure it will give me some problem. I could not load things as usual, to startup to the desktop screen it may take hours. Every thing I click it will open very slow. I do hope you can do the needful.
