Windows Update

im confident that there are no harmful stuff on windows update,

im using windows 7 of course, i3, intel hd graphics, windows64bit,

as you update, a space of your hardisk will be occupied, imagine if i leave my windows update activated for 2 to 3 or even 5years, my hardisk will be populated.. i only have 500gb and 300+ used because i love collecting 1080p movies lets get back to the point.

question,
My windows is definitely working fine for 2years without updating so i need somebody who can convince me, why should i update my win7 64bit.
please exclude microsoft security essentials,

dont get me wrong im using an original OS,

I`m not gonna try to convince ya, but I`ll tell you this. A fresh install with no updates runs circles around a system with all the updates.

You`ll have to get another hard drive just for windows updates..:what:

Better to be safe then sorry.

Their is no way of knowing the volume updates will take in five years. Up Dates are not filling up you hard drive. The movies are. Move the movies to another hard drive. I don't do convening, that's your job. It's your computer. Only the foolish run Windows 7 without updates.

...only the foolish run ANY operating system without updates!

I've never seen a 'cared-for' Windows folder take up more than 50GB - it will sometimes report as being larger due to file compression, but is usually far less.
My current heavily-used install reports in as being 29.9GB. As and when SP2 comes out, that will probably drop.
